Subject: CPU's & Motherboards

I’m upgrading my desktop box soon and was just curious about the compatibility of chipset and CPU socket type.

Are all MB with a certain socket type, eg: socket FM2/FM2+ compatibible with all cpu’s of this socket type, regardless of the chipset architecture?

For example, I’ve chosen the the ASRock MB, FM2A88M with AMD A88X chipset, socket FM2+

and the AMD A10 7700K 4-Core Processor

My buy list so far:

You should add a SSD to that list if you want the best performance. Put the operating system on the SSD and use the terabyte drive for storage.
