Subject: Email format - have I missed something?

I’ve noticed in the last couple of years that many people who send emails use a new line for every sentence they write. There is no use of paragraphs.

As many of these emails are from people who I know write well, I suspect that I have missed something. Is this how emails should be written?

I haven’t noticed this….but then emails for me tend to be letters from my siblings and we all write well and properly. Especially my sister who teaches. My father has an extremely odd email style, but that is just him.

Emails should not be compared to written letters. They are a lot more informal and their ease of use means the information contained within is more trivial than the essay-driven correspondence of the past.

Also, you would agree that the screen is a vastly different media to tactile paper. Font selection, screen type and simple things such as word wrap cause the end experience to be unique to the reader, and out of the hands of the sender. There is also the issue of a lack of need for economy, pixels are free.

And all text on a screen benefits from lots of white space.

I tend to write emails without paragraphs.
Each sentence on its own line.
Makes the message easier to comprehend at a glance.

I write my emails with multiple fonts, colored fonts, uppercase and lots of high lighting, bolding and italics.

It is the only way to get the message out, the illuminati are real people. You sheeple need to wake up.

I write in a font called Castro composed of hammers & sickles. Quite confusing.

So there is no need to write as formally as we did formerly.

Leaving a line between each sentence makes it easier to read.

There is no “rule” to state that this is the new way it should be done.

Some are quicker on the uptake than others.
