Last night I explained to you that the police have been sent out on the road to collect fines so the government can get the tax refunds back from the peasants; as they are so loaded with debt the last thing they want is the punters using that money to pay their own bills. My bets are that tax time is when the police are sent out in waves to collect money.

Today my new conspiracy is that work pants have not only become more expensive but also deliberately become smaller, an 82R waist shrinks over a number of months so the wearer cannot wear them any more ; meaning that they need to go and buy more pants for work.

Years ago cotton work pants were cheap and would last quite some time , I wore them as a student because of it. Fast forward a few years and I’ve seen big standard work pants going for 70 dollars a pair!!

Don’t think that treating them right will help you, all of my older ones have shrunk, I haven’t changed size, other pants of the same waist have remained useable , the waist hasn’t changed.

My advice? Buy work pants one size larger than what you’ll need , they’ll soon shrink to the right size.

They must be making the work pants from a material known to shrink

They must time it so the pants be one unuseable after a year or so by shrinking at the waist only, the legs don’t shrink at all.

Maybe the particular cut & sizing of the work trousers is sensitive to small variations in belly & bum size.

I should have added: sizing in trousers can be very variable, despite the stated waist size. When ordering trousers online I always order a size bigger than ought to be necessary if the numbers could be relied on.

I always took that irony to be the point of the song, which I think the musical treatment supports.

You may never have met him or noticed his presence but I first met him back in 1997 in the MacCentral forums. A quiet unassuming man who I fondly remember for his friendliness openness and complete lack of selfishness.
He leaves this legacy which I am sure you will appreciate. http://footprints.kreativedvd.com/

He passed away peacefully in his comfy chair in Germany in early April 2012

Wookie is a classic serial deserter. Fascinated with conformist conventions but practically opposed to conformist behavior. He clearly would prefer to be in charge than to take orders. He’ll join but won’t show up unless he is given minions to govern……

no its credible

all levels of government are linked whatever you might think, they all feed money up and down the respective chains

when the state government is in serious debt the police are out in force especially after everyone has had their tax refund – governments see that all money you make as their money.

I have to agree with you on the pants. Yakka stopped getting them made in China and they now come from Bagladesh. My old Chinese ones have patches on patches as they fit me and I can only get so many uniforms per year. The new Bangladeshi ones have shrunk to the point I can hardly do them up.

I’m practically sure its the material they are using and the design of the waist, over time it tightens

you need a flat tax, a non negotiable tax that everyone pays without deductions. taxing the transfer of money would be the first step. if you want to do trading fine but you’ll pay the tax real time as you do it without having to account for it at the end of the year.

I don’t agree with payroll tax, its a scam, why should an employer pay a tax for employing people!?

I don’t agree with tax on materials/ goods in storage. an electrical goods seller has already paid tax on the thing he is selling why should he pay tax for keeping stock in his warehouse? its obscene.

Yes, if you are one of the small minority who earn well above average income, and if you don’t care about the welfare of people less well off than yourself, then a flat tax rate is a great idea.

I earn a less than average wage , its just that I realise that the tax that should be paid , isn’t being paid. if a flat , non deductible tax were imposed, very low but all persuasive then all things would be possible without breaking everyone
