I always wondered about the lyric, “I’m gonna be a man in motion, all I need is a pair of wheels” and it turns out the song was written for a Canadian paralympian to raise awareness of spinal cord injuries.

Android Lust – The Want, Lacking
\
Android Lust is the solo project of Shikhee D’iordna, that combines elements of rock, electropop, electro-industrial and classical styles into a blend of music that she describes as “electronic and dark.”
Android Lust is just one person and the brainchild of musician Shikhee in the same vein as auteurs like Trent Reznor.
Shikhee D’iordna was born in Bangladesh, but grew up in England and the U.S.A. In 1999, she moved to New York City.
Her initial work was done entirely electronically, and attracted a goth/electropop/electro-industrial following.
After two independent label releases Shikhee released The Dividing on her own in 2002, bringing her to the attention of Projekt Records, who signed her and re-released the album. Outburn Magazine calls The Dividing “unconventional and adventurous – 10 out of 10” while the Boston Phoenix says “The Dividing never misfires; it feels almost – but not quite – slick, its arranging smart, its themes ingenious.” Jane Magazine said “The Dividing is filled with intensely passionate lyrics delivered in low whispers and startling, penetrating screaming.” That album involved more live instrumentation, on the album all performed by Shikhee. In the supporting tour she was joined by a live drummer and live keyboardist. She felt that, while dark it was a more optimistic collection than her earlier work, and that her fanbase had become more diversified.
Shikhee’s third full length album, Devour, Rise, and Take Flight, was released on February 21, 2006. “Dragonfly,” the first single for the album, was released on October 18. The album featured more live instrumentation than The Dividing, but embraced a more aggressive electronic sound. This album also saw some creative collaboration with Christopher Jon, Android Lust’s live drummer, who co-wrote one track with Shihkee, performed on other tracks and helped mix the album. Also in 2006, a video for “Dragonfly,” was directed by New York director Dan Ouellette.
Her fourth album, The Human Animal, was made available at androidlust.com on July 22, 2010, with an official street date of August 10, 2010.
Shikhee is now working on a new release.

Erkan Oğur & Djivan Gasparyan – Fuad (2001)
Notes from the artists:
Before the heart, there was time. Then the miracle occurred. The heart came into being. With the command, the beat began. The first blow and the substance shakes with “Fuad” the initial moment of life where movement is born. “Fuad” is power, sound and rhythm. The heart begins life zealously, beating fast… Speeds up, slows down; gets high, gets down. Desire, fear, love, joy, sorrow, music, ecstasy, shock, fatigue/ attack, disease, halt and restart.
Then a signal to the substance, and there comes the moment of ceasing… “Fuad”. From the minute of infinity to the magnanimous one, from nothing to being, “Fuad” commences the universe. There, neither the first nor the last can be defined. Absolute being is the sole reality. Before the heart, the moment of the heart, after the heart; this is the question. There are moments when the heart is broken, that’s the instance that breaks “Fuad”. The happiest moment of the heart is “Fuad”, it sees, hears, touches, tastes, smells, loves, discerns, feels with “Fuad”. And we think with “Fuad”.
The talents we have and the talents we can never discover are “Fuad”. Logic is formed at the heart, and might be cruel or loving as granted. “Fuad” is in the service of matter/ whether human or not, known or unknown, and whether it will be discovered, be it living or non-living. Yearning for “Fuad” is a gift to the dreams of humanity.
Djivan Gasparyan
Djivan Gasparian was born in Solag Village of Ahta region in Armenia in October 12 1928. When he was a little boy, he started to work to support his family, but duduk was always in his mind. “Silent movies used to be accompanied by folk music. I heard duduk first time in a movie, I had to earn money for my family. By selling the empty bottles that I collected, I had my first duduk. I was six years old. I learned to play it by myself. After playing in a child group, I entered the Gomidas Conservatory. Following master and pedagogy education, I became an an academian in the conservatory.”
Djivan Gasparian performed as a soloist in TatuI Altunian Folk Music and Dances Ensemble from 1946 to 1982. While producer-musician Brian Eno was analyzing the music of Soviet Nationsin the studios of Melodia Record Company in Moscow in 1989, he came across to the music of Djivan Gasparian. Being very impressed, Eno invited Gasparian to London. Gasparian’s first album to be published abroad, “I will not be sad in this World” was recorded in this period. After this album, he worked with the most famous symphonic orchestras and well known musicians like Peter Gabriel, Lionel Ritchie and Michael Brook. He recorded many albums in Europe and United States. In many movies like “Ronin” and “Gladiator”, he took part with his music.
This is a magical album. It brings Gasparyan, the undisputed king of the Armenian duduk and Ogur, the tirelessly innovative Turkish fretless guitarist together. The result is a deeply satisfying musical alchemy. This one only gets better with repeated listenings and let me tell you, I am doing so. Anyone who likes musical exploring will find a treasure in this one. Enjoy!

Another Combichrist song, it’s a strange song, it samples scientists talking about DNA experimentation with ambient music playing in the background.

April Fool , written by Ronnie Lane, performed by Ronnie Lane and Pete Townshend, and possibly Eric Clapton. The song features some very nice guitar interplay and excellent Dobro slide playing.

The Twilight Sad – I Became A Prostitute
The Twilight Sad are a Scottish indie rock band, comprising James Graham (vocals), Andy MacFarlane (guitar), and Mark Devine (drums). The band are currently signed to Fat Cat Records and have released three full-length albums, as well as several EPs and singles. Their 2007 debut album, Fourteen Autumns & Fifteen Winters, drew widespread acclaim from critics, who noted Graham’s thick Scottish accent and MacFarlane’s dense sonic walls of shoegazing guitar and wheezing accordion. The Twilight Sad’s notoriously loud live performances have been described as “completely ear-splitting

Suede – So Young
Suede are an English alternative rock band from London, formed in 1989. The group’s most prominent early line-up was Brett Anderson (singer), Bernard Butler (guitarist), Mat Osman (bass guitarist) and Simon Gilbert (drummer). By 1992, Suede were described as “The Best New Band in Britain”, and attracted much attention from the British music press. The following year their debut album Suede, went to the top of the charts by becoming the fastest-selling debut album in almost ten years. The album won the Mercury Music Prize and helped foster Britpop as a musical genre. However, the band’s lush follow-up, Dog Man Star (1994), showed Suede distancing itself from its Britpop peers. Although it is often regarded as the band’s masterpiece, the recording sessions for Dog Man Star were fraught with difficulty, and ended with Butler departing the band after confrontations with Anderson and musical differences with the rest of the band. Its sales suffered due to these events, however it was met with a generally enthusiastic reception on release and has, over time been lauded with universal acclaim from critics.

…and I’d agree with it. I don’t think there’s too many parents around who would like to be cruising around with their 5 & 7 year olds sitting in the back, chilling out listening to triple M when “Fuck the Police” come blaring through the radio.
My normal listening is RRR and then JJJ. I have to be careful when the sprogs are in the car, but as they’re getting older I normally just let it slide.
