Was the gardening forum also down?
I don’t know.
I went to the hypeforum to see what I could see and can confirm that I could not see the garden mob either…
tokyo3.org was down, anything hanging off it was rogered.
This forum and the gardening forum hang off it.

It can’t be PWM…
(he was out in Ske… um… HIS dinghy all day…)
Well we had some interestingness here yesterday afternoon but I couldn’t tell you lot about it. But I don’t think it was my fault about the forum though.
When we got back from Melbourne around lunchtime, we turned on the reverse cycle thingy to warm up the house – which was colder inside than it was outside. Then we went to the cafe for some food. Came back and it was still cold inside. Put the meat for the dogs in the microwave and it did a sort of “I think I can, I think I can….” routine. Check all switchboard stuff. Solar system unhappy. Lights like a brown out and dipping. The nice young local electrician came around and multimetered everything, said “nup, house is fine. I’ll call Powercor for you”. “Oh, and by the way, I think it’s an earth problem, best not to have a shower or play with watertaps or stuff.” Switched the house to generator because he turned all the mains off. Powercorp said…we expect to get you fixed by 5.30pm. OK, now it’s 6.30 and no sign. About 7.30 the guy turned up, had trouble finding the house number (it’s on the house, but it was dark by then) and had a bit of a look. Hmm, our power comes off a condemned pole across the road. He got someone else to come out. Second bloke was not very happy about climbing a ladder up the condemned pole, which sways…. Anyway, he fiddled with some wires up there and all fixed. I hope they do something about the pole before we have our next problem. Might have to wait for a bucket if they won’t climb the ladder.
Is it their responsibility to replace the pole? Late last century I had a condemned pole at the Mole Creek property but had to pay for it myself ‘cos it was on my land (I think it cost about $400).

They have to pay for the pole….it’s on the other side of the road. They are responsible for stuff to the property. If they decide to put it underground we may be up for the 10 feet from the fenceline to the house.
But we rather doubt they will try to underground here….you would have to cut through rocks. And they would have quite a long bit and under the road to do.
It was me
I noticed that Telstra is punishing the poor
they’re cheapest plan only goes for 21 days not a whole month as should be expected so:
I burnt down 4 telstra shops
I burnt down 6 telstra exchanges
I destroyed 4 mobile towers
and then went around with a chain saw and took out 120 wooden poles here and there
and poured petrol over those Telstra things that stick out of the sidewalks and set them alight
I thought I saw that Theo guy so I fired shots at him
then I thought I saw that Turnbull guy so I fired shots at him as well
then I smoked some pot and calmed down
Im ok now

hope you didn’t forget to write out a risk assessment
I forgot, I was too angry, but I did post a letter to Telstra saying that they should not punish the poor with their 21 day plan

oh yes, try to show “remorse” in court and you’ll get away with murder. cry into a hanky and tell’em you’ll never do it again
Must admit, a 21 day plan sounds silly. Most people get paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly. So a 21 day plan seems designed to suit absolutely nobody.
Telstra is a scam
I know of one poor individual with them that’s being fleeced because she didn’t read the fine print and she regularly runs out of download on a plan with a hefty price tag
>Telstra is a scam
don’t be like that, wookie, my telstra service is so good, so bloody fast, i’ve thought about complaining about it being too fast, and the ease with which I can recharge via phone or credit card, the ease with which it gobbles data and I can send them more money, it astounds me.

if you’re being fleeced on a plan – well…
I’ve stayed away from them for at least a decade

the 21 day plan is not up to scratch
otherwise they’re ok
>I’ve stayed away from them for at least a decade
But then I was happy with overhead bare copper wire and having a lady in the exchange, way back when telephones were elegant bakelite things with a proper handpiece, that sat on a small table and looked almost furniture.
Way back before I got my dragster three-speed pushbike, when I had a dog friend called wally.
Back when remembering telephone numbers was easy, there were only two digits.

My step mum worked at an exchange in Melbourne
pulling cables out plugging cables in etc
just think of the costs if all those people were still there
What happened this time ?
Nobody knows. Nobody will ever know.
Crazy Neutrino tripped over the cord. Or maybe it was Cap’n, I forget. It was 5 minutes ago i read it,.
