One for HP!

I made up a “quick and easy brownie” recipe today and it is so sweet I can’t eat it. Any suggestions for recreating it, like crumbing it into an unsweetened batter and rebaking or something? It is so sweet I don’t even want to feed it to the chooks! And I used some good quality choc bits in it that the kids bought me for my birthday and I feel like I have wasted them now :(

Cookies and cream ice cream? Go easy on the cookies by the sound of it…

I endorse this product.

:)

Alternatively, crumble and mix into some deliberately lightly sweetened custard.

Or, crumble and use as a crumb crust for bitey lemon cheesecake mix.

Hmm. Wracking my brain. I hate too sweet things, sickly to eat. Cut it into smaller slices and serve with plain unsweetened yoghurt? That’s about all I can think of..

Saturate it in tawny port, you won’t remember how sweet it was.

Corr, tawny port over too sweet brownies. Now that’s one way to go.

The tawny port solution is the best one so far… in my opinion, that is…

I’m worried about ruining the port!

What about a sludgy trifle? The brownies being the sludge…the custard being almost no-sweet…you could soak the brownies in respectable dry sherry…wouldn’t need to use them all at once…are you going to freeze the brownies whilst you mull this over?
