What the F***** jugganaughts is going on with this

I usually sign into my MS email accounts from my desktop but whenever I sign in from my notebook or phone, I get the following email from Microsoft:

Microsoft account
Verify your account
We detected something unusual about a recent sign-in for the Microsoft account *******@outlook.com. For example, you might be signing in from a new location, device, or app.
To help keep you safe, we’ve blocked access to your inbox, contacts list, and calendar for that sign-in. Please review your recent activity and we’ll help you take corrective action. To regain access, you’ll need to confirm that the recent activity was yours.
Review recent activity

Thanks,
The Microsoft account team

The problem is, I have to go through this rigmarole of having to verify my account EVERY frikken time I sign in from other devices!!

Is anyone else having this issue, how do you stop it, change to Yahoo or Gmail?

I guess it means “they have” no way for you to register your device with them

It would make life easier if you could

Maybe they not caught up with mobile technology yet

a lot of people have a pc, which is usually fixed

mobile tablets and mobile phones are different, ie not fixed

I got that for a while as well, or similar.

I think it was MS stuff up as I only have Live on my PC.

Seems to have sorted itself now though.

Um, I don’t think so mate, doesn’t seem to be a “syncing error” but rather “something unusual about recent sign-in” activity, asking me to verify my account.
It’s actually a pain in the arse to keep going through this verification process.

It may also be due to signing in from a different IP address/ISP

and that is where they need to improve their services

some way for them to know that your devices are yours

maybe something like a write once only sim card which the user could buy in multiples

that you say have three devices, three sim cards locked to you

yeah, CN, their system is detecting a sign-in from a different location / IP address and is activating some security process incase the account has been compromised, ie: someone or something has nicked your password, for example and is trying to access your account.

I had the same problem recently when I went to UK. They detected I was not signing in from my usual device and lock me out of my hotmail account. A bit of a PITA when I’d booked stuff online and used my hotmail address to get confirmations!

I never managed to get back into it until I got home even though I filled in their form with every password I’d ever used, knew my mother’s maiden name and four or five of the last people I’d sent e mails to.

Thanks hotmail staff

nup
Their security protocols are a little over the top…..”call us over protective but we’ve detected unusual activity for your account, we need you to verify you are you

My online banking seems able to verify I’m me without too much bother when I log-in on different devices etc.
