One of my cucumbers has got a white/yellow edge to a couple of its leaves. It only has two or three sets of leaves so “a couple” is a fair amount of the plant. Is it missing something?

Could be a whole bunch of things, have you had any odd weather lately, ie some really warm days or some really cold days? Have you got the base well mulched and mounded? Too much water or too little?
More info please :)

Weather has been cool overnight, but no frosts. I have three plants; in a triangle with about 7 or 8 inches between each one. Only the one has the white edges. Plants are at this stage only about 3 or 4 inches high, with only one (maybe two) sets of true leaves. Not mulched. Been a bit slack about mulching my no dig. At this stage only have small, almost seedling, plants, so not sure how to avoid burying them. Water – probably too little rather than too much. Have reset my lines so they should get more now.

Got me stonkered what the problem is. I’d pull the offending one out and replant. You still have tiem it seems???
I’d get concerned if the others start to go off.
cucumbers are the first to stop producing/maturing here in melbourne, and also require to be planted out when summer weather is almost in full swing. they get knocked about by cold weather, and aphids take to them if prolonged cold. here (in melbourne) i direct plant them in soil in november and december…or even january if it’s still cool around christmas, as is sometimes the case in crazy melbourne weather.
