Subject: Creating oils

Hi all

Does anyone know how we would go about creating an oil that can be used in the manufacturing of candles?

For example, my bro would like to get the scent of bacon… Could try cooking bacon, straining and cleaning the leftover oil and mixing that in the candle…

Is there some specific method of making fragrant oils that could be used in manufacturing candles?

There is a method where fat is spread out on a tray and the odour containing material is placed on top of it. IIRC this is used for getting the odour from flowers such as frangipani. Not sure how you would incorporate that in a candle though, as they wax.

It is. Although it’s a bit too creepy for my tastes. But I’m glad you enjoyed it, Poik.

It’s dark and I did not expect the ending at all.

Which illustrates how great a writer Susskind is, that he can deliver such a shock ending after all the other dark stuff.

Yes. I’m glad I read it, but I did feel a little tainted for a week or so afterwards.

I think I read it in a day and a half, which isn’t something I usually do.
