On 6/9/13, we lost one of our SSSFers: the wickedly funny and smart Geoff D.
I thought it might be nice to raise a glass in his memory and remember him fondly.

Sure does Mr Car.
And the bastard took all his knowledge with him without a forwarding address.
It’s a pity he never got to go to the Peoples Republic of Cornwall, he became very attached to his roots there after he retired and had time to explore.
Champion bloke, sadly missed.

The problem with getting old is that it is better than the alternative.
Sometimes the alternative arrives before you are ready for it.
Cheers G D, I hope you are partying on down up there.
Say Hi to FSM for me.

I remember Geoff well. He always treated people as human beings. Which is important to me.
So, as shown on Reality Check tonight:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2NOfOeSX4k
Stavros Flatly, Britain’s Got Talent, 2009.
What I want to know is, given the energy involved in that dancing, and the hours needed to get the routine going….how did those two keep that body shape?
>…..human beings…..”
dodgy species, given to generalizations
I’m sorry, I hit the wrong thread.

Why are they called puds? is it because a lot of “pud pulling” occurs at these functions?

it’s a reference to a pudding, a pudding that was brought to the very first ‘pud’
A pudding that was signed by all those in attendance, and brought to subsequent puds.
Actually that was a balloon. I wonder if it still exists.
Yeah, wrong thread…

It was aborted when someone sharped the pencil.

He had such a kindly visage. Which showed also in his words.
Here’s to you Geoff!
Pity we never got to go look at those rocks at Crow’s Nest together. But you got your book published, and had a great book launch.
We remember you fondly.
Vale Geefer.
Lots of fond memories here too.

So glad he got the book done.
He was wanting to hang around long enough to build himself a boat.
If I ever get a nice wooden boat, I’ll name it the Geoff D :)
Here’s to you Geoff.

So, I am trying to install a hotmail account on my phone. Keeps telling me username or password are incorrect (I have done this and checked multiple times – they are correct).
Any suggestions as to what else might be wrong?

Bob the balloon was trusted to Wen’s care, IIRC…I’m guessing he’s still tucked away, powdered, in a drawer somewhere
