’Australia tax’ and Foxtel monopoly mean consumers pay 400 per cent more for digital programs, Choice says

Australians are paying up to 400 per cent more than viewers in the US and UK to watch popular digital programs, consumer group Choice says.

Choice said the mark-up on Foxtel for programs like Orange Is The New Black and The Walking Dead is between 300 and 400 per cent more than accessing the programs on the US streaming-service Netflix.

Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull will today host a public forum to discuss ways to reduce online piracy.

Why cant Malcolm Turnbull talk about ways to reduce DVD prices, CD prices, online Music and online Movie prices, as well as TV Series prices?

Hey Malcolm bring down all these prices to match US prices and maybe you will make an impact on piracy

Throw all these regional coding people into jail for just making money for no reason

If I was was to make up some organization to double prices or make people pay 400 percent more for Twisties, lollies, potatoe chips and chocolate, would that be a crime?

or other stuff like music, movies?

PISS OFF Malcolm

If there are no sales, they’ll have to drop the prices to get rid of it

Now that we are rid of the local industry, when are we going to get car parity?

Soon. Once there is no local industry to prop up they can abolish the tariff altogether.

My colleague’s father has one and AFAIK it is still registered.
It was not so long ago that he was stopped by the local coppers for a breath check and they breathalysed his wife, in the passenger’s seat.

US man turns a Holden Monaro into the world’s fastest car

1 day ago September 08, 2014 10:34AM

A staple of the Aussie road … the Holden Monaro

A US man has made a replica of the world’s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron, out of a 2004 Holden Monaro — and he wants someone to pay $115,000 so he can finish building it.

A car restorer in Florida has advertised the homemade re-creation on online auction website eBay.

The plastic-bodied backyard build is based on a 2004 Pontiac GTO, which is the US version of the Holden Monaro.

In 2004 and 2005 Holden shipped 31,500 Monaros to the US as a Pontiac GTO — more than twice the number of Monaros sold locally over four years.

At least one of them is trying to come back to life as a knock-off version of the Bugatti Veyron.

BUGATTI VEYRON HITS 431KM/H

The real Bugatti Veyron is powered by a massive 1001 horsepower, 8.0-litre W16 engine with four turbochargers, has a top speed of 431km/h, and costs more than 1 million euros plus taxes. Only about 400 have been built.

The ‘Bugatti Veyron’ for sale on eBay is a Pontiac GTO (nee Holden Monaro) that has travelled 136,000km (85,000 miles) and is powered by a comparatively wimpy 5.7-litre V8 with about one quarter of the power.

The seller says it is a “high quality replica” and largely “intact and functioning”.

However the photos show the car is not complete and a long way from being ready for the road, and the airbags appear to have been disabled.

USA TV AD FOR THE HOLDEN MONARO

Any Australian enthusiasts ought to be aware that, just as with the real Bugatti Veyron, this replica cannot be registered in Australia as it is left-hand-drive.”

the population are the employees, we just do what we are told and if we don’t like it we can vote in elections that have no basic security that is seen in even third world nations , for politicians that seem to pop up and be backed by vested interest – no wonder the place is going down the toilet – basic electoral security has been breached, the firewalls are down and we are being hacked.

get used to it, say goodbye to reasonable wages and no future for your children unless you are on some decent money

knowledge and wisdom are of no use in a time when there is none

shut down the unis and exactly what would happen – the world still turn.

we don’t need unis in Australia because for the cost very little is ever returned to the Australia. the bloke who developed the cervical cancer vaccine is from Scotland not Australia – he did all his learning elsewhere

the fact is we don’t need educated people here, we can just import and save a fortune. education is always such a troublesome business because it gives form and structure to the mind which can then rebut and debate stupid ideas. once you are in power you don’t need debate or rebuttal skills because you write the law not the population and you strike at the peasants with an unyielding whip.

to destroy a society and remodel it you first kill the intellectuals

people get used to a stupid state of affairs

ultimately society boils down to three tribes

the elite

the army

the proles

the elite controls the proles via the army (a specialised branch dedicated to waging war on their own population – the intelligence branch is paid to spy on the proles – I would say more money is spent on domestic spying (the average joe) than watching for foreign spies.

you are going to ripped off whether you like it or not

you can try to lessen it though

think back to my 4 functions of government

think back to my 4 functions of government

you lost me with the Fifth column

can we start at 1 again

think back to my 4 functions of government

What are the 4 functions of government?

within hare Krishna society you have

the elite

the army

the peasants

the elite control the army which controls the peasants

the peasants are brainwashed to do what they are told, those that go against the elite go against Krishna are killed under the command of the elite by the soldiers. the reasoning being that if you are killed in this life you don’t regress in the chain of enlightenment. those born as peasants deserved to be born poor and in the underclass because of what they did in the previous life.

indian society is rife with this – its why we are still being asked to give money to india’s poor because the elite despise the poor and the poor accept their lot in life to please Krishna.

1 always have unemployment

2 always take money away from people

3 always make sure 1 and 2 are in force

4 a government must always be in serious debt

(even in howards time the debt was only down to argentina’s debt level now)

1 always have unemployment – orchestrate interest rates to rise and reduce money and hence employment

2 always take money away from people – taxes/ fines

3 always make sure 1 and 2 are in force – the police, the judiciary, the army, the tax department

4 a government must always be in serious debt – this justifies the “strong decisions” needed to make sure that 1 and 2 are “justified”

(even in howards time the debt was only down to argentina’s debt level now)

a government in serious debt can tax heavily to take down the proles

it gets itself into serious debt so it can then be in the position later on to justify the heavy taxes

queensland for example has got itself into terrible debt under “labor” 80 billion dollars means that the liberals can lay waste to the economy and thus take down the working class. the aim to do serious damage to the working classes – that never had any control over the situation in the first place

last time I looked ergon energy and energex were both around 6 billion dollars in debt thanks to incompetent managers

in energy Australia I remember them wasting money on telling us how to get a nights sleep instead of how to make good electrical connections – the result being that many of those connections looking back on it were fucked , which then needs more work to go back and fix

India has over 1.2 billion people

no need to give to poor people over there

they have enough people to give to the poor over there

about 6 weeks ago I had time to sit back and asses exactly what we were trying to achieve in a particular location

I realised that we had no true measure of how well we were supplying product to the consumer

this would mean that in the near future supply would grind to a halt

this has almost happened last Friday even after all my warnings right up to event

now we have had to waste product to make sure supply can be met

Maybe it’s best that you don’t post when you’re drunk. It really adds nothing to the forum. However it is your thread so I will keep quiet and just watch as you and Wookie meander about so to speak.

Only once recently

I won 100 bucks for the best KPIs, they never ran that competition again

the two bosses started sacking people so friends and family had jobs, they got rid of two gurus and swapped them for unskilled people.

I just fleeced him doing all the time I could knowing he would sack me two weeks before the missus had the baby – I had warned beta out 6 to 7 months out he would do this and he didn’t disappoint

The day it went down was funny , they couldn’t explain exactly why they were sacking ie couldn’t provide one example. That bloke was always firing people though. The day I got the job he told me not to try and take him for unfair dismissal

I figured I had about a years worth of wages out him if I was lucky

Now that we are rid of the local industry, when are we going to get car parity?

i read an article yesterday that finished with a comment that left hand drive cars can’t be registered in Australia.
if it’s true, why not?

I don’t think that’s true. There’s a few Yank Tank cars with LHD registered around here- I saw one a couple of weeks ago and noticed the sticker (the stickers are being phased out so I have this thing where I’ve been looking for cars without them).

Yeh, just choose not to purchase them.

it’s an individuals choice.

You don’t need them to survive, or anything else

a friend of mine was a converter. He was one of the two in WA.. you used to have to convert LHD to RHD .. then he had to go into revamps of classic american cars because they changed the laws to say that you can drive a LHD car that’s properly posted. That was about 20 years ago…
