Yes. He is an absolute gentleman. I will count him as a good friend and hopefully I’ll get an invite to his next street party.
Also, MV does rock. He’s the original Rock Hunt.

He has some very cool items around his home. I’ll be tracking down a silk pilots map like his if I can. What a cool piece of memorabilia.
Thanks Postpoc, it was an enjoyable morning.
Looking forward to those beers…
:)

The metal spider isn’t one of them.

Given Mr. V’s occupation, the thread title seems singularly appropriate.

and a good read is Leo Marks, between silk and cyanide.

Mine is a US issue of the Eastern Himalaya region, from K’un Ming (China) to Chabua (India). Printed both sides, with an interesting inscription in several languages.
“I am a US Airman. My plane is destroyed. I am an enemy of the Japanese. Please give me food and take me to the nearest Allied military post. You will be rewarded.”

I hate to think how that message would be rendered now.

Must be a bad case to get put off by an obviously fake spider!

So what good deed did MV do?

He helped get my bushes into my 626 suspension and went beyond the call of duty. The least I owe him is a new G-clamp. :)

This is a car thing, not a tree thing, for those who didn’t know.

I’ll keep that between Michael and myself…

I’ve repaired the G-clamp sufficiently to clamp bits of timber together. So it’s all good…

I have one of those somewhere too. A nice thing.
Michael V rocks!!!!
Yes, yes he does.
Oh! I see!
So when I have to have an early beddy byes because of a stupid Saturday morning exam that ended up being only 10 minutes long despite of the 1.5 hours allotted, it’s all “not getting home until late”………
;P
Stupid course convenors, they could have pumped the lot of us through by 10.00AM even allowing for hangovers. Instead they made us all anxious and wasted a perfectly good Friday night in an exotic (!) destination on feverish (and pointless) study.
The joke’s on them as they had to spend the day waiting for unhungover people to turn up until 16:00 in the PM.
