Subject: The History of SGT standard global time

In the late 21st century when the earth was attacked by alien forces from the far side of the galaxy to convert earth to their religion ( the galaxy had been promised to the aliens by their god), it was a matter of convert or be transported to the prison planet Izrl.

As cities fell to the aliens if was decided as part of the global consolidation of the remaining armed forces to convert to global time. To defeat an alien force that worked on their own standard time, making it easier to co ordinate counter attacks it was decided to remodel existing time to global standard time , it made a small gain against the aliens at least from an organisational perspective . As time went by earth forces adopted many protocols and practices of the aliens that were seen to be effective.

Standard global time is a base 100 time base

The day is split into 100 time units

So when 50 is reached it’s naturally halfway through the day for example

the months of the year were reduced to ten with December back rightfully to its place as the tenth and last month of the year

hours, days , months were now fully integrated to the new global standard time

ten hours a day

ten days a week

ten weeks a month

ten months a year
pre invasion -it wasn’t necessarily practical at a household level because time and daylight would conflict -

post invasion it was simply a necessary time organisation to synchronise operations irrespective of the daylight or night time – remember – there is no day time or night time in space, humans have made clocks to suit their purposes for earthly matters alone based on earth activities , not to co ordinate global counter strikes against aliens that don’t work using daytime or night time.

as attacks from the aliens came day and night with little warning the notion of sleep for the average human changed, a sleep cycle by the amount of daylight there was quickly became a luxury.

The day varies with the rate of rotation of the Earth, which varies with the tides.

Was reading a science fiction book recently in which the metric standard of the second was used throughout. Together with kilosecond, megasecond, gigasecond. eg a lifetime is about 2 gigaseconds.
