Saw her again today, the first time I saw her would be at least 20 and maybe even 30 years ago, I wonder if it is the same person? About average height, slim build, and long flowing and bouncing red pony tail, anyone got any further info about her please?

You call her a “girl” but you first saw her 30 years ago. Does she look any older? Maybe it’s her daughter.

Yeah good idea, but you see her very infrequently, but will consider that the next time I see her if practicl, and can catch up to her.

Do you mean the famous “Melbourne Skipping Girl”?

See article about her here
In May 2008 this iconic Melbourne sign was included on the Victorian Heritage Register of the State’s most significant places and objects. Having fallen into disrepair and non-operational for more than a decade, National Trust Chairman, Dr Graeme Blackman, launched the appeal to raise funds for its repair and maintenance.
I didn’t know about her until a year or two ago when I read an excellent book about advertising signs in Melbourne, written by a lecturer or former lecturer at Melbourne University.

Yeah can remember seeing that sign in Melbourne, back in the days before TV, some nights my parents would take me for a drive to look at the neon signs, the skipping girl was the best. Have a friend who used to work for the company who sold the product.

Vinegar is a very useful product that was used a lot in the olden days. Hippies still swear by it to replace most of the stuff that’s in the kitchen cupboard under the sink.

It is also not bad on fish and chips and is useful for household science demonstrations.

Reading W&P the aristocrats had an ancient form of email, ie four mail deliveries a day, and they used to pass each other little cards. Much the same happened in London.
