Subject: Print your own comet

The ESA has made available 3D data files of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko, presently being closely studied by the Rosetta probe, so that anyone with access to the relevant software and 3D printer can print their own miniature. The files are available in both wrl and obj formats, although the actual comet is about 3.2km x 4.1km, so fine surface detail is still being kept secret.

The lander Philae is due to land on the comet on 12 November 2014.
