Subject: Gait walking up stairs

With my left hand on the bannister, my left hand moves forward in unison with my right hand and right foot, then, my left hand remains stopped on the bannister and my left foot moves forward, in unison with my right hand and right foot moving backwards, does anybody else experience this sort of spazzo gait? and why is it so?

I can think of two possible reasons why. One is that with the left leg in place you have greatest stability, because the leg is next to the bannister, and therefore it’s the best time to move the left hand forward. The second is that the left hand can’t move downwards and so moves forwards when …

roughy, just gave it a try, and had to think about it, but could do it, but it then got me confused with my “normal” gait when I reverted to it, glad I gave up the booze about 10 years ago or I may have broken my neck.
