Start of a long war I reckon. Bit like the Cold War but this time between militant islam and the west. If ISIS had not pissed off the Americans by beheading videos they would be in a far better position, then again they probably made a decision to engage with the west to gain islamic sympathy and support. The results of that decision will be analysed and dissected by the next group trying to establish a calipate. I suspect ISIS has gone too far and its brutality has turned off groups that might have been its allies.

One simple reason is that during wartime the entire US media is under a censorship blockade that prohibits criticism of the government. Much the same applies throughout Europe and in Australia. That seems a clear enough reason for a cynic like me.

Isn’t it more the USA fund middlemen to fight others, chuck them to wolves when they have finished with them and then wonder why they are pissed off
A man has been arrested during a police operation near a government building in Canberra.
The incident happened near the John Gorton building in Parkes, which houses Department of Finance and Department of Environment staff.
ACT Policing has not provided further details of the incident but has confirmed the arrest this afternoon.
Heavily armed police from the Specialist Response Group helped with the response.
