Anyone know much about night sweats? I’ve had them for a few years but now it is almost every night. Environment isn’t hot and it is not my whole body, just my head; my pillow is normally soaked in the morning. Done a Google search and all the associated ailments don’t fit; I’m thinking is just idiopathic.

One of the first questions I was asked when a scan of my fractured vertebrae also revealed a form of tuberculosis, known as Mycobacterium Avium Complex= MAC, was; do you have night sweats?
Not suggesting this is your causation but indeed you may be having other metabolic problematics.

That’s what I thought!
RB, I saw that but I consider it unlikely. Being ADF, I get regular TB shots and all my blood work has come back normal.

has nothing to do with getting TB shots. It is more about the status of your immune system.

Well aside from not doing anything for the night sweats, it’d make you live longer ;)
In this large prospective study, coffee consumption was inversely associated with total and cause-specific mortality

Are you a heavy drinker?
Menopause, low blood sugar, and fever can cause night sweats. So can certain medications, including antidepressants and steroids. If it’s just a matter of your clothing or bedroom being too warm, it’s not really the night sweats. Night sweats are unpleasant, but most of the time they’re harmless.
A more serious cause of night sweats is alcohol consumption. It can happen if you’re an alcoholic, a binge drinker, or even if you’ve only had one drink. If you’re physically dependent on alcohol, sudden withdrawal can result in night sweats. If you experience frequent night sweats due to drinking, you might have a drinking problem.
