Do humans produce more urine during the hours of darkness rather than daylight? I seem to piddle less often during daylight hours.

Well I thought that was the case with me, but of late I seem to be piddling more frequently at night.

cooler weather makes you pee more or seems so perhaps because your body loses more fluid through evaporation during hotter weather.

I’m with DA here. My body shuts off the need when I’m asleep. But I do need more often when cold, like when walking or (heaven forbid) biking during winter.

There’s a standard time lag of about an hour between drinking fluids and needing to pee. Liquid also comes from digestion of hydrogen-rich food.

Prostate?

Hi bob (fbr). Do you have heart failure or are you on diuretics (fluid tablets eg frusemide (Lasix))? If so, that’s the answer. During the day, fluid accumulates in your legs, and then when you’re flat at night it redistributes, increasing amount to the kidneys and urine production.

Hi OCDC, thanks no none of those meds, I was wondering if it maybe an indication of diabetes? perhaps should get tested?

Usually with diabetes you’re just thirsty and drink a lot and pee a lot all the time rather than at night, but if it doesn’t settle down, a check wouldn’t hurt.

Prostate wouldn’t make one pee more at night than day though. Just more frequently and smaller volumes all the time.
