I can’t smell Boronias, so I don’t know. I wish I could, everyone says how lovely the perfume is :(
bummer!

I can’t stand the smell :-) I used to love it, but then I worked with a lady who wore boronia perfume. No one told her that you can’t smell your own perfume after time; so every hour or two she’d reapply it. One day it sparked my hayfever so bad I had to go home. My eyes were almost swollen shut. Thankfully, it was only a temp assignment, so I didn’t have to be the one to tell her to lay off! Ever since then I cant’ stand the stuff.
wow – spring at orchid’s place could be quite summing this year.
i look like having an earwig plague again – yet your early spring blooms are perfect.
summing = very poor attempt at slang ‘something’
Pretty, your garden must be very colourful:)
Here’s my pantry spuds, all doing OK. My seed spuds are refusing to shoot, I’ve had them in the house for ages.

Why do you need to wait until they shoot?

Because that’s what I did last time, it’s supposed to give them a head start in the garden.
I just plant them when I’m ready to plant them, whether they are shooting or not. They have always come up either way.

I’m going out to do that right now. Tired of waiting.

I don’t cover the leaves up, do I Pepe?
ummm – yes and no.
i believe those smaller shoots will grow straight up through mulch but i wouldn’t entirely cover the big leaves.
in my opinion only – i would cover all the plants except for the biggest leaves. but do it for one pot only – and see what happens. i’m not 100% sure. the danger of doing nothing is the stalks below the big leaves need covering soon – or they will flop over and be difficult in future.

you always leave the top leaves exposed so that they can photosynthesize.

OK, thanks Pepe. I’ve dragged some of the mulch up the stems of the big ones but I’ll add some more tomorrow.

good
they are going to be a bit labour intensive for a while aren’t they?
how long ago did you plant the tubers? 3-4 week i guess.
are you intending to add compost as well as mulch as they grow?
Your flowers are just stunning orchid. Well done.
Thank you Crinkle :)
