The Observer and PermeateFree have ignored repeated requests that they take their crap somewhere else, it’s up to CB88, who runs this forum, to delete their accounts.
To help clean the place up I urge you to email him with such a request.

For your information Spiny, most of the posts on this forum are non-scientific, people chatting to each other, often with a considerable amount of banter. I have not seen your handle for some time, so presume you normally post under a different name, however one thing is for sure, you are not innocently offended, but have vested interests.

Now I know why I was avoiding posting here.

I’ve been a mod on two forums. Gave people warnings, explained why certain behavior was unacceptable but 99% continued to flaunt the rules and everyone said the mods were shit and didn’t do anything. People left so I introduced no tolerance. One warning, then short suspension then banning. The usual suspects ended up being banned, going elsewhere and complaining that we were biased / fascists / democrats / whatever. Our more valuable people came back – and more – and tis a happier place now.

This is my favorite method of moderation:

You’re banned until you have done the following – You must watch the movie “Sex in the City” twice, you may not download it you have to rent it from a shop, you must then write a review of it that isn’t a copy from somewhere on the internet because I’ll look for it. Once you done that you can email me and I’ll unban you.

I found an alternative forum for our incorrigibles. similar themes but very outspoken & non pc. most of the problem people found it more to their liking than ours & happily left us.

Just reading about The Barbershop Paradox, which is different to The Barber Paradox

I must say I’m a bit disappointed with LC’s performance on that one, but maybe it made more sense at the time.

The article on The Barber Paradox is pretty poor as well. As it stands it says it is an example of Russell’s Paradox, but a bit further down it quotes Russell himself as saying it is not an example of the Russell Paradox.
