Oops fumble fingers pressed submit too early, sorry. I am making my scissors blunter! I have 3 types of things to sharpen with, no grinder.
Used to be able to do it OK with the flat fine stone. Also tried knife-sharpeners that you draw blade through – one just a shallow slot on back of an electric can opener but also have a 3rd knife sharpener with a rolling abrasive in the middle and slots either side – also for drawing blade through.
I forget whether it is the flat or bevelled edge that I should be working on…Any help from accomplished blade-sharpeners will be gratefully received – but I will have to check back later for replies.
I use alfoil for scissors. Fold a piece several times and then cut it a dozen or so times. I use this for my fabric scissors. My fabric scissors are treated like precious gems. In fact, I probably take better care of them than the few gems in my possession LOL.
I doubt it’d work for badly blunted scissors, or if you’ve already sharpened the edge incorrectly. If you’ve damaged the edge you may need to use a professional. I suspect that a knife has a very different cutting edge to scissors. One has to work by itself, the other against another surface.

i agree – scissors need to be broken into two to sharpen and they are sharpened different to knives i think.
our good kitchen scissors have tiny teeth and are realigned by using the stone thingy.
the dress makers scissors are off limits and the cheapos are thrown away.
I’ve heard people say cutting fine sandpaper helps as well.
