Hi guys, I’m sorry for being a bit late to come to the party, but the University of Western Sydney has been running a programme on the native bees of the Western Sydney and Lithgow regions this year, and it will carry through until March (?) next year.
For more info, check out this website
Anyway, I thought I’d pass on this message from one of the coordinators, Dr Megan Halcroft.
“As part of the Bee Aware of Your Native Bees project, the University of Western Sydney and Bees Business will be holding an Australian Native Bee Symposium. This is funded by the NSW Environmental Trust and will be hosted at the UWS Hawkesbury campus on Wednesday the 18th of February, 2015. Please see below, an invitation to the symposium. Due to budgetary constraints, places are very limited (100 participants only) so it will be a case of first in best dressed.
We will host about seven Australian native bee expert speakers during the day, which will include two open air demonstrations to choose from.
Our experts include Dr Michael Batley (Australian Museum), Mr Martyn Robinson (Australian Museum), Dr Anne Dollin (Australian Native Bee Research Centre), Dr Tanya Latty (University of Sydney), Mr Les Dollin (ANBRC), Ms Jenny Shanks (University of Western Sydney) and Dr Megan Halcroft (Bee Aware of Your Native Bees project).
To book a place at the symposium please contact the UWS Office of Sustainability at sustainability@uws.edu.au , but book soon as places are limited. Do not contact me directly to make a booking.”
