India has won the toss and has decided to bat
I think we can expect a fairly typical GABBA pitch and that should suit Australia’s quicks early on.

15,539 in attendance today. A rescheduled match and a scorching hot day so a decent turn out.
looks like the umpires have decided to call stumps, much to the relief of the players, especially the Aussies who will be looking forward to putting their feet up after a long, hard slog in the field.
India have dominated Day One here at the Gabba, Murali Vijay bringing up his 5th Test century. He was dropped on 36 and 102, both times by Shaun Marsh and both times should have been held.

It might prove costly, although the real issue for the Aussies is their bowling stocks, which were depleted prior to the start of the Test match. Now, all 3 quicks and Mitch Marsh are struggling with little niggles, Marsh in doubt with hamstring soreness.
It may well be a very long day tomorrow for the Aussies if their quicks can’t recover overnight and with Rahane in sight of a 1st test century against the Aussies. Rain is predicted but Andrew tells us rain has been predicted for the past 2-3 weeks.

Wonder how much cricket we’ll get played today
A bit, I reckon. Shouldn’t get rain until later today. There might be a bit of outfield water (not that likely, because the ‘Gabba drains well usually). I reckon we got 10-12 mm last night. “gabba maybe less.

Lyon to Aaron, OUT, that’s a stunner at short leg! Classic offie’s dismissal, loop and dip, turn and bounce from outside off as he pushes forward to defend. Pops up into the leg side, and the substitute fielder at short leg, Marnus Labuschnage, moves in in a flash and dives forward to take it inches off the ground. I’m not sure whether it was bat-pad or bat tucked behind pad and simply off the pad. There was a hotspot on the inside edge, but I’m not sure if it was the impact of bat on ball or bat on pad.

Mazhar: “Australia will be happy to cross the line but wont be happy with Watson, Haddin, Marsh at all. None of them justified their position in the team. But I dont expect wholesale changes in boxing day test as the team won this match. If they lost it, there would have been at least 2 changes for sure”

Haddin is 38. Would have been rested from Brisbane test (originally) with shoulder injury.
Test keeper has got to able to bat. How long since Hads got runs?
