How yorley? That’s Norfolk Islandish for “How is everyone?” Had a great time. Saw lots. Took lots of photos. Beautiful scenery. Did over all the shops. Spent too much money but glad to be home again.

Once again heaps to do in the yard. It’s been pouring rain since our return so we can’t start anything out there yet.

I’ve read some of the conversations that went on while I was away and this is my pick of the week.

(Nah, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Looks like we will be back in Brownsville sooner than we think. So, now is the time to make the most of our stay. It’s kinda sad, and I would be happy to stay a little longer, but me thinks the boss wants me back on Aussie Soil…)

I think it’s good news. Brownsville isn’t that bad and it’s probably safer. Less for me to worry about.

Welcome back Pom and MrP, sounds like a great holiday. I’m very envious, it’s been ages since I’ve had a holiday.
How did you get around over there?

Glad you all missed me.

For Bubba: Most holiday bookings come with a rent-a-car included. They have at least 4 rental car businesses on the island. No one uses seat belts or locks their cars. Such a feeling of freedom. Car number plates only have 4 digits. The cows have right of way on the roads but you have to watch out for the chooks. The poultry population has increased and many run wild. Each rooster has his own girls and they defend their harem and territory by cock fighting. Something I had never seen before. It’s not nice either.

For Pepe: It’s the tours that take all your money really. Tourism is run on tour buses. Tours go everywhere and it works well. There are progressive dinners where you go to individual homes for each meal course. Great fun. They do Convict re-enactments…Bounty mutiny…sound and light shows…coral viewing(not in a bus though)…industry and farming tours…garden tours and lots lots more. We did a tour of a Kentia Palm nursery where they grow for export. Palms from seed grown in styrafoam boxes. There are millions of them! Apparently they send thousands to Holland. They are used in offices and hotels (indoors) as air purifiers. They export Norfolk Island Pines as well.

Photos will happen someday maybe. Having some computer problems…………. again.

i see and remember now -
i got caught on my italian tour – unless you take the ‘optional’ extras you sit alone in your hotel room.
the progressive dinners sound like a unique norfolk idea.
