My biggest cucumber plant is only about 7 or 8 inches high, but already has a flower opening, and another bud (that I can see). Should I remove these and let it grow a bit bigger before it starts producing fruit?

good question. I had one like that last season and it only every produced the one fruit, but I put it down to not enough water, but maybe I should have removed the flower….

I just had another look and there’s a bubbie cucumber there as well. My 4 inch high tomato plant had flowers too. I took those off, but I’m still wondering about the cucumber.

good question.
wait for the fruit to develop and pick it early – i.e. just on ripe.
seaweed is spose to help fruiting.
