What do you find interesting Din? I read somewhere that the reason the weather is so foul in Charles Dicken’s books is because of that mini ice age. I think the premise of the article was that even though weather records weren’t kept a lot could be deduced from the literature of the day. The verdict was that it was actually a darn sight colder. I didn’t realise they placed it as far back as 1300 though. Not sure why Dickens in particular got a mention. Maybe he focussed on weather? Or was particularly descriptive. I’ve found most of his stuff pretty heavy going actually.
I find interesting the comment that a “mini ice age” occurred so close to our time…150 years is not that far away in terms of climate change….
