What time of day I wonder? Would the Sun here be above, on or well below the horizon?

No, unfortunately. mr kii and one of his friends saw something ice/air related up in the mountains years ago….I’ll have to ask him what it was.

mr kii saw “freezing fog” up in Ruidoso.

The term “freezing fog” may also refer to fog where water vapor is super-cooled, filling the air with small ice crystals similar to very light snow. It seems to make the fog “tangible”, as if one could “grab a handful”.

This from a friend.

U No Me
I leap from link 2 link…
In checking for news on Joey, I went to the Holiday Forum
I read a thread about a multi-rainbow phenomenon
under discussion, from some Twitter Page ..
http://cdn.inquisitr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Ice-Halo-670-665×385.jpg
..but no one took notice of the notation @ the bottom of the
photograph, attributing the explanation to a certain person
associated with the outside website Atmospheric Optics:

Atmospheric Optics
this website covers many topics other than rainbows
but I zoned into that, wondering if they had any info.
regarding what you’d been experiencing:
