Can you give a precis? My internet connection doesn’t do youtube reliably, and certainly not a 45 minute video. (That’d take all my bandwidth and more, also…)

Hey MV
Man, started writing a synopsis, then bailed, just too much to write !
Don’t know how I could condense it all down and do his story justice
in a few paragraphs!

yes, good idea…and a good overview.
IBM engineers tested him saying he had the highest aptitude for computer programming they had ever seen.
In the last two decades, this skill/ability has made some very wealthy men.
The amazing part which may not be on wiki, is all the challenges and setbacks he endured, putting all his own money on the line and I have to admire his business and personal ethics.

It’s OK. I just read a bit of stuff about him. Driven, and with trophy wives.

nah, I woudn’t call his wives trophy wives, although his second wife was an actress, that term gives a wrong impression I think

ok whatever, that stuff wasn’t covered in the video and obviously his first wife had her own reasons for feeling the way she did and some people just aren’t compatible and some really aren’t suitable for marriage in the ‘normal’ sense. So I guess he wasn’t able to be a perfect husband and also achieve what he did and the lifestyle he wanted didn’t end up fulfilling her needs.
something had to give and it was his marriages.
but plenty of normal Joe’s have worse marriages, the video was more about his innovation and entrepreneurial ability, this is what I found very interesting
man, i can’t seem to even find me a nice girlfriend let alone a wife (which I’d very much like)
and I’ll never achieve anything near what he has achieved business wise, so to me he is quite amazing even considering some of his human faults, which we all have to varying degrees

Yeah, it’s a rare combination of talents: brilliance, vision, drive, no fear, (and, related to those, public speaking ability) plus a few others. I’ve worked with these sort of people. People who have made hundreds of millions.

For me the brakes are fear (and probably lack of drive – or in other words, laziness) as well as perfectionism (things don’t have to be 110% perfect, 80% will do better than most…).
Elon Musk is a special guest star on the next episode of The Simpsons, to air in the US on Jan 25.
