Thanks Pepper, the Brahminy has quickly become my second favourite bird of prey after the Wedge Tail.

I also got some okay shots of a White Breasted Sea Eagle at the same location, these are an impressive bird also.

But I do love the colour of a Brahminy :)

I don’t know if you have done better but that shot is awesome! So how far were you from the subject when you snaped it. It looks as though you were as high as the kite. (That’s not a play on words)

Thank you for a special photo.

not far really, the Kite had just landed and taken off with the rest of my lunch which was conveniently placed on the shoreline. I was in a boat about 10 metres from shore and the bird was prolly 20 metres in the air, so bird = 30 metres from camera????

Sorry, I didn’t realise you were still around. I have been getting lost in you photo blog. I love some of those shots. The clods, the liquid gold waters, the favoured, launch on Lake. I was taken by it too. The fact that there isn’t any clear horizon is the best bit.

Your too honest. I had a feeling it wasn’t yours because you weren’t in Aus to take it. I still like it.
