Nectarine flowers are a pretty pink. You look to have a good size backyard too.

I just wish I had a garden I wasn’t embarrassed to show you guys!!! :D

One of these days…

When the fruit trees are edged, the sand is mulched, and the vegie beds are filled up (even without vegies – lol) then I will post some new pictures :)

ROFL – how about a big patch of sand?? :) Anyway, don’t want to hijack Orchid’s thread, I try to stay quiet when I’m in a sulky gardening mood! grin

Ah, and hanging out with gardeners who are achieving stuff is a great motivator! Yes indeedy, one of these days you’ll stun us all with lots of photos of the garden we inspired you to create :)

We’ll be here.

Actually, having admitted that I’m getting the internet cut off, I should say that someone will be here, even if it’s not me personally!

And may I add – a garden is always a work in progress! The degree just varies :)

Love it O40. My willows are just starting to get new leaves too. There is something very “springy” about a willow with new foliage.

I’ve never seen a Fritillaria before so I looked them up. Some weird ones in that group.

Morning All,
An overcast day this morning, it will be more pleasant to garden though. I have to plant my tomatoes today, come what may. This is what we’ve been busy with the last few days, the new strawberry cage. I used black netting because that was what i had and didn’t want to buy more white at the moment. Not very easy to work with, but it will keep the birds off. Now all I have to deal with are the slugs and ants :(

Looks good Orchid. You should get a decent sized crop with that many plants.

I have two early plantings that have flowers, but something else keeps beating me to the fruit :-( Snails are the bane of my life.

My other 10 plants in the tower are sending out runners (not sure what to do with them, ‘cause there isn’t room to plant them in the tower), but no flowers yet. They look wonderfully healthy though.

Can I cut the runners off and plant them? Or do they need to stay attached to the ‘mother plant’ until they take?

cut the runners off, they should take by themselves and they will be preventing flower production.

unusual topic heading for this discussion but…
to propogate strawbs put pots of good soil alongside and plant the runners in the pots. just put some soil over the connecting runner – don’t bury the crown !
cut the cord when the plant has established.

I had a lot of runners too. I am experimenting with them. I’ve cut the umbilical cords and put the ends of same in a jar of water. Then I planted them in a pot which will hold the jar in the middle and the potting medium is all around it.
Gosh that’s a bit obscure. Hope you understand.
I’ll report on success or failure. (Probably the latter!)
