Well after a shower and some breaths of relaxed air time:)

We have worked out how we can extend the vegie garden:)

Not in the area I had first thought of, but next to the no-dig garden:D

I’m going to move it out to the clothes line edge and grow low cropping foods there.

Just need to wait on the sheep poo later this month:D

Just measured it out…… Just over 5 metres long and just over 1 metre wide.

Your going to need a map to be able to walk around your back yard soon L1. Couldn’t you grow cucumbers or something climbing, over the clothes line? LOL.

Mr D has said I can go ahead with a couple more vegetable beds. Mine tinkit this is because the homegrown tomatoes cook up a treat on the BBQ for Sunday brunch…

I have got a bed partially going (well the weeds have been killed off) under the shade of the Jacaranda (it was my ill-fated haybale garden of a couple of years ago), and this will be for the summer lettuce, and hopefully Asian greens, seeing as we eat so much of the latter with my weight management programme…

However, the tomatoes will prefer the full sunlight: if it’s too hot’n‘sunny I can rig up some shadecloth…

After getting the OK for the general location, I scrutinised (or is that “reconnoitered”?) the area, and first off it needs mowing (buffel grass), then we need to mark it out…

I am a big fan of the round bed, as this is easy to mow around…with a radius of my arm’s reach, and room for a makeshift birdbath in the centre…

Just about everybody who contributes to this forum, has straight beds…could I have an opinion please, round or straight?

Also, Lucky, do you still have the URL to your original effort with no-dig? Your very first one? I’d love to have another look if possible, please…

Thanks Veg Gardener…although could you please retype the above for me as my tired old brian (had a vino for a special occasion last night) is not up to puzzles?

It may be that I just like rounds???

lucky – are going to spade out all the lawm/topsoil and completely replace it with new soil?

dinetta – most edging materials are supplied as straight – timber, bricks, steel. you can have freeform beds or circular. it makes no difference to the plants.

Well!! what a simple and logical answer!! it sure explains a lot!!

Thanks Pepe…

Also, MrD commented on the rock salt that I use with the olyve oyl and basil a la Mrs Pepe’s preservation method…he found it flavoursome… I am anxiously awaiting the revival of my basil plant as it did not really enjoy the cold weather we had about 6 weeks ago…my stash of oyled/salted basil is nearly “out”…
