I bought these at Woolworths tonight…and put them in a salad (yet to be eaten)…has anybody grown them? They are a delicacy, apparently…

seen them being talked about over on GE – garlic scapes I think they are called. The flower stalk of the garlic plant. I reckon they have turned up here now because we are finally starting to grow our own garlic in Australia.

Well they went over very well in the salad…cos lettuce, lebanese cucumbers, sweet baby capsicums, spring honion, tomatoes (home grown and shop bought), mushrooms, zucchini, (think I’ve forgotten something)…balsamic vinegar and salt and olyve oyl…plus 4 stalks of garlic shoots…garlicky without the pungency…gave the salad that “something” – mixed with cold roast chicken…

Oh yeh, 2 x avocadoes …just ripe…they are so cheep at the moment…
