There was a red aeroplane doing loop-de-loops over the blowhole at Kiama on the weekend. Does that count?

Chris Sperou?
they used to have the Red Bull air show in perth.. then someone crashed during training ad the next year the numbers were down ad that was the end of loud noises and invaded air space for the city. Of course they ever blamed the on return on the crash the show just was no longer ‘economically viable’
Missed it this year, though very tempted. A previous Avalon I had to go along for work because I was working on aircraft corrosion with one of the participants. That previous Avalon I also took a strong interest in pilotless aircraft being designed and built in Australia.
This Avalon has been on the news tonight because there’s a 3-D printed jet engine on display. Made from sintered nickel and titanium powders it saves 10 to 20% off the weight of a conventional jet engine.
clearly my n key is not working properly add nnnnnnn’s where needed
They tell me the drive down to Avalon is a nightmare on the weekend.. Gotta be fond of queues

Could’ve been. The on-line pics of his plane look the same.
Now I have the SpongeBob song stuck in my head.
Loop de loop – one minute only edition :)
LOL at the 5 hour edition on YT.

I went a couple of times. Best day I found was being on the Perth side of the river and watching them take off and land on the grass, rather than watching them from a distance do their thing over the pylons. That kind of got a bit same same after a while, hard to judge with the naked eye if pilot A was better than pilot B or C just watching them do their tricks one by one.

False. They open up a new road in to Avalon for the airshow. It’s a longer route in but the traffic along it flows quite freely.

On ya bike then…
I flew to Avalon (the Air Show) one year. I’ll never go back. The whole thing was incredibly badly organised, and security was a joke – it was obvious that security was only a last-minute consideration.

I went on Wednesday by pubic transport, bus Black Rock to Sandringham station, train to city, then train to Lara, then Shuttle bus to Avalon, painless, and more enjoyable than driving.
my thoughts are if you want to go then go… I mean it’s not going to get any less popular (unless you are in Perth and you government would rather spend the money on Barnett’s Inlet – not mentioning any names)
it will be what it is, and you’ll either enjoy it and tick it off the list.. or you’ll think it crap and tick it off the list anyway.. nothing to lose..

You must be trade….not open to public admission until today:

I wonder how the public transport option goes with all the public doing it. And it being mostly a weekend thing.
