I’d said so, last’s longer, would PTSD be considered a form of emotional violence.
I suppose it depends on the circumstances as well, you could get bashed out in public, the physical scars heal but you may not feel save going out in public for a lot longer.

Depends. I’m sure the victims of carpet bombing would have preferred being shouted at.

One of the issues I am dealing with/working on is the emotional abuse from various people in my family and a former partner. Each week I have major breakthroughs about stuff that I have lived with for all of my life. The physical violence I experienced from the former partner was for a short period, but I haven’t felt the need to dissect those incidents in the same way.

IME emotional violence/abuse is insidious and not always noticed by other people.

It does last longer

and yes I can see instances where both physical and emotional would merge

I can think of instances where physical violence isn’t a bad thing; protecting oneself from attack by an animal for example.

Emotional violence? No situation is coming immediately to mind where emotional violence might be good.

No. Physical violence causes emotional trauma. Emotional violence doesn’t cause physical trauma.

Sure it can. There are always stories of bullied people committing suicide, cutting themselves etc.
