laptop just BSOD’d… ripped the power cord and battery out toot sweet and it booted up fine..
could that few seconds of BSOD have done any damage?
how do I prevent it from happening again?

No and you can’t. It’s going to happen again, with slowly increasing frequency, and there’s nothing you can do about it. I suspect it’s an operating system mishandling of a very basic problem, perhaps even a hardware problem. You did the right thing. On my desktop I use the reset button, which is faster than taking out the power cord and battery on a laptop.
When you see a BSOD, carefully note down any error message and related error codes. This is vital information for diagnosing the offending fault.
Otherwise you can go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer and see if the fault information has been logged.
Next time it happens write down the error code, then google it, usually tells you whats wrong and how to fix it, pretty simple. Unless you’re a little special in the head… ;)
What does BSOD mean please?

it happened again this morning, so i ran all the system diagnosis tools i could find, lol. hasn’t happened again.
is there any danger in leaving the BSOD up for a long time?

Yes. I’ve seen that screen on my old comp. A new bios battery fixed it.

nope. it’s already boned.
write down the ‘technical information’ bit, that says STOP 0×000 etc. google that as well as the thing at the text at the top e.g.WINDOW_STUFFED_ERROR
Has anything in the laptop changed recently? software/hardware wise?
Is there any danger in leaving the BSOD up for a long time?
when you get the BSOD, Windows has already shut down
lost clusters
