Overheard a heated argument ‘tother day about the risk of having certain food or drinks and then followed by strenuous exercise, I would have thought that the risk of regurgitation may be possible, but not a stroke or heart attack how think ye?

The main issue with eating and strenuous exercise is stomach symptoms. Ever watched an Ironman event (3.8km swim/180km bike/42.2km run)? They eat during those, but simple things like vegemite sandwiches, fruit and sport drink type food.
Anything more and you’ll either shit yourself, get get cramps and/or puke.

My Mum ( who knows everything) reckoned you’d have a heart attack ‘cos “all your blood goes to your stomach to digest your food”
Not just certain foods, any foods. Push yourself hard on a run it is not uncommon for people to have a chuck, usually at the end of the run.

Yes. That’d be the main one.
But answer this one. The story about not going swimming after a heavy meal because of the increased risk of cramps, is that an urban myth?
