Subject: undertone

I saw an advertisement referring to skin’s undertone. How do we define undertone, in this context? How can we systematically determine a person’s skin’s undertone?

1Take a gold bracelet and a silver one. Wear both of them and determine which one suits you better. If it’s the silver one, means your skin has got a cold undertone. In case it’s the gold one, then your skin possesses a warm undertone.

2Wear a pink cloth over your head, then try an orange one. The first one will look better on cold undertones, and the second one in warm undertones.

3Look at your wrist’s veins. If they’re blue, then your skin has a cold undertone. If they’re green, then it has a warm one.

4Now, you should have determine which is your undertone.
•If your skin has got a warm undertone, the best colours to do your makeup are beige, bronze, brown, gold, yellow and terracotta.
•If it posses a cold undertone, the best ones are pinks, silver and grays.

I think the colour the veins appear beneath the skin is an indicator.

Interesting. What would this relate to in terms of anatomy? Some property of the dermis?

Ikr. If there’s anything I hate more than doing stuff, it is following instructions.

No. I don’t know the anatomical reasons for such things but it’s the reason makeup colours look different on different people, including non-white peoples.
