Ok a question for the computor techno heads. Is there a programe, pay for or free, that will put pop up reminders on your PC screen ?

EG: 9 am shower.
9.15: clean teeth.
10 am : clean room.
12 pm: Lunchtime.
1pm-2pm PC time.
Ect

Some email clients will do this – for instance in Outlook you have a calendar, if you put events in you can schedule a reminder to pop up.

Apparently Bon008, MS outlook used to do this, but not now. I have looked at various applications, most are pop up reminders when you log on. I need by the hour, or when nessesary , to pop up. Big ask probably I know.

Ahh OK – we must be using an old version at work – not surprising! :)

outlook will, but outlook express won’t. I have a prog at home. It’s a freebie alarm program. Does a couple of different things. Can use Windows fancy text to voice thingie to read your reminders to you; can just pop up a window; can play a song; can open a programme.

My bills – I scan, then set the alarm for the day before they’re due to open the scanned file.
Some alarms like needing to take the Girl to school play a suitable song (some boppy “School Days” song)
Bed time the wizard says “It is now time for Rebekah to go to bed”. The lights out message says “Lights out N-O-W” (he spells out “now” ‘cause I typed it in capitals – seems he can’t read all upper case! LOL)
My bed time, which is 10pm, simply pops up a window ‘cause I don’t want to wake anyone else up.

When I get home this arvo I’ll try to remember to send you the name.

We have a large whiteboard , works for everyone else …but this is for GS and it has to pop up right in front of his eyes on his PC screen.
The laminated reminder pages typed in a big font stuck around the house at his eye level didn’t work.
Theres always a challenge lol.

yer Bon, I’m a slob too lol.

It’s called “Talking Alarm Clock” and is from http://www.cinnamonsoftware.com/alarm_clock.htm. I had some issues setting up the text to voice deal, but I sent them an email and they helped me out no problems.

As for being organised, think about it … if I was actually naturally organised I wouldn’t need an alarm to tell me when to go to bed ;-)

Actually … I am very organised, but not always very disciplined.

My “task list” is just getting longer and longer…:P

Going to try your one, thanks SueBk – being installed as I type.

It asked me about some characters other than Genie – I think I said OK to all. It will be fun to find out more – but too weary to do it tonight.
