Is there a program similar to Fotoxx, that actually lets you manually adjust the white balance?
Gimp and Darktable are both too involved for me…
Another plus would be that the program doesn’t take aaaaaaaaages to start. Fotoxx always takes forever before it actually lets you edit your photos, because it has to repopulate the thumbnails in its library or what ever. SO annoying!

I haven’t used any of these programs, so I can’t tell you if they’re crap or not. Give them a go.
Darktable
I’ve been using xv for years, but it hasn’t been updated since 1994 (although some user-contributed patches have been applied since then.) It has some advantages (small size, fast startup, easy interface, good coverage of formats (some through later patches)), but is old, and likes 8-bit framebuffers a bit more than later software. It has a simple image editing (including colours – and a white balance editor) interface, too.

When on Linux I use Gimp.
Way back 30 years ago when on Unix (pre-Linux) I used to use a program called PhotoMagic, it probably doesn’t exist any more.
Why not do your image processing on Windows or Mac? They have better software.

It could be about Money. I use several different applications on the Mac but as far as it goes the industry standard for graphics are Mac/Photoshop combo. I can’t afford photoshop on the money I earn from my photos. Nil buys nil.
