Hello all.

My mum and I have a Perth trip planned for late July/early August and we are wondering what sights we should see while in town. Any attractions must be wheel-chair friendly.

I already have Rottnest Island and the Perth Mint down but what other attractions would you Perth people recommend?

Kings Park… Hillary’s – also has the aquarium there, Araluen botanical gardens, Perth zoo (let me know when you do that one, I would be happy to give you guys a tour), Armadale reptile center.. have a look at “what’s on – perth” on the www – it will tell you events scheduled for that time

Fremantle prison and markets.
Kings park is nice for a stroll with great views.
The Swan is a nice river for a cruise.

If you have time and wheels, go for a drive. Margaret river and back can be done as a fairly long day trip.

The highlight of my last trip to Perth was 6 hours of wandering around Balcatta while my car was repaired. Doesn’t get any better than that.

the prison tour isn’t really suitable for a wheelchair – I am uncertain if they have tours for wheelies, they may have.
Balcatta for a day, eh? thrilling

Sorry; not sure what happened there.

PhilC, would you consider a drive up to Cervantes to see The Pinnacles? When we were there almost 10 years ago, there was a route through the NP there and they could be easily viewed from the car. Not sure whether there is an area with wheelchair access, though.

My advise would be to go to any of the major parks and check out the amazing variety of bird life.

Or hope to see dolphins in the CBD.

Looks good. This website has all the info I need. http://www.visitpinnaclescountry.com.au/pages/cervantes-visitor-information-200515/

We might make a day trip of it. It will be nice to get out the city if we can.

Thanks Speedy.

Oh, that’s a little unfair, kii. How about a multiple choice question. Something like:

What’s buffy’s favourite drink?

a. Orange juice
b. Lemonade
c. Milo
d. Coffee

A Turducken is a turkey stuffed with a duck which has been stuffed with a chicken and then roasted.

It is an unfortuneate name as it contains “turd”.
