Yeah, it is weird that every time something like this is reported, the headline and intro present it as a brand new thing.
The technology described in the article is nothing new but hopefully there have been improvements in efficiency.
So when this is up and running and we use it to control the temperature and tell nature to GAGF and that we’re running things here now who is going to decide what temperature to set the world at?

(TIC) Useful for getting fuel for nuclear fusion using the CNO cycle.
(TIC) Wouldn’t it be easier to just burn carbon-containing substances (such as underground shale oil) to get the carbon dioxide to make fuel? Or heat limestone to drive off carbon dioxide to make fuel?
