Anyone know what this little critter is? Under that flat body are 6 legs. Couldn’t get a photo underneath ‘cause it would turn amazing back flips to right itself. The big black thing on the side is the camera lens cap. Sorry about the quality; I dumped it on the concrete stair and later realised it wasn’t a brilliant place for a photo.

According to CSIRO silverfish nymphs are similar structure to the adults, just smaller.

I’m wondering if it might be an aphid? Haven’t a clue what aphids look like. Some pictures on Google are slightly similar – that hairy edge to the body.

It was on the guinea pig cage, but The Girl had just put the silverbeet trimmings in, so it could have come from the garden patch.

Not a tick :-) Ticks are 8 legs, this only had 6. Tick was my fear, ‘cause it was near the piggles.

I know it’s not one but it does look vaguely like an ant lion.

Found it.

It is a lacewing larvae, like the common ant lion, just a different variety.

Well, aren’t you a clever one? I looked at various things, but didn’t find anything and then gave up. I’ll be able to tell The Girl and she’ll be most impressed.

Not so clever,I just happen to have the right book. Although I did think it looked like an ant lion from the start.
