Brain system for emotional self-control discovered

Different brain areas are activated when we choose to suppress an emotion, compared to when we are instructed to inhibit an emotion, according a new study.

another interesting study involving emotional control

anyone tried to consciously inhibit an emotion

parents must do it a lot with their children

but what about when driving and someone does not give way

can you suppress your emotions then?

Own the desire. Road rage is usually the result of observing someone acting the way your morality system won’t let you behave. So own the desire to behave that way, and accept that your self-constraint is superior to theirs.

And accept that someone else is going to kill them really soon.

WHAT?

I suspect a large majority of road rage is drug induced or effected. Certainly a case I ran into a few months ago had no rational response mechanism in play.

I had someone nearly plough into to me today because they didn’t bother checking their mirror as they changed lanes, I didn’t even bother tooting them, watching them for a few minutes it became clear they had no idea how to drive – it was an older woman in a Subaru. ive seen this kind of driver before – women driving subarus are normally careless and have an inflated view of their driving abilities. men who drive subarus are normally speed demons driving beyond their ability at high speed

you see a ford laser – stay away
