My favourite function in Firefox is that you can open a dozen tabs, close the program and save the tabs. When you open it again all your tabs automatically open. I have three main websites I keep tabs on through out the day, so its very handy.
Lurv firefox:D
Collie put me onto this years ago:)
lucky- I thought it was what you used .
i plan to buy a laptop in the near future ..primary school rebate and all.( and HALLlllEJUIH i get get broad band finally ..wireless tho
and we dont have just yet ..)
and the cheaper options only run the BAsic version of windows ..
when asked why and etc ?? the salesman told the support for basic was not much ..obviously hopin’
to get me up and over the thousand dollar mark.. i was thinking less- by far …and i thought about an alternative
browser ,not happy with IE .on the desk top .
tell me did you both down load it and installit yourself ……and what did you do with windows ….in that ,um , how did you get rid of it from the computer ???.

My favourites are Google Chrome and FireFox.
For just normal web use, I prefer Chrome – the simple, streamlined interface just suits me, and I LOVE the new tab page which anticipates what page you’ll want to go to. Everything takes me two less clicks in Chrome than other browsers. The one downside to Chrome is that it doesn’t yet have a functionality to organise your bookmarks – doesn’t bother me as I use online bookmarking but may be a real drawback for others.

I went to the site and downloaded it and then I made it my default browser. IE is in the background as sometimes, sites will only be browsed in IE…… pain in the bum when I get a site like that.
Easy add to install.
One of my fav things with FF is the colourful tabs……. makes for more than 1 page open easier to find the ones I want to close.
I am also a happy Firefox user. You still need windows though as an operating system unless you go to Linux or something. You can uninstall IE but as Lucky says there are still some websites that won’t work properly on anything but IE, but you can designate what your default browser is so when you click on a link it is opened by the one of your choice.
btw you cannot easily remove IE from windows, as MS cleverly integrated parts of it into the OS. so it’s best to leave it alone and just make another browser your default.
i’d like to have a go at chrome as it also uses webkit (in engine room) just like Safari.
IE is pretty much the only browser that doesn’t support SVG…which is such a shame, as SVG provides for cleanly scaling graphics and fonts etc.
Chrome is supposedly the first browser to run each web page (tab) separately inside the OS, so if one web page ever makes the browser crash..then it only crashes that page and not the entire browser. pretty neat.
ahhh ..thanks people ….? exactly answered ..i thought it would be impossible to get away from Ie …but I’m going to have a go at firefox …next week i think after nights, when I havea clear head .!!

Now there’s a feature that appeals to me!

I can’t recommend Chrome enough – unless you rely heavily on bookmarks, and have them all organised neatly. (I use Delicious so that I can access my bookmarks from home and work, and any different browser)
I was using Chrome at work and fell in love with it – cleaner, simpler, and faster than IE and FF… but then the virus scanner pulled it off my PC and now I can’t use it at work :(

When I read this I have visions of a computer sniffing a paper bag with spray in it.
