Testosterone levels in the womb may determine how masculine your face is as an adult

How masculine you look – as a woman or a man – is linked to how much testosterone you were exposed to when in the womb, new research suggests. The findings, reported today in the Royal Society journal Proceedings B, are the first direct evidence that there is a link between prenatal testosterone exposure and the structure of your face. “It was quite a breathtaking effect,” said co-author Professor Andrew Whitehouse, from the Telethon Kids Institute at the University of Western Australia.
