with the water restrictions its a good idea to plant the toughest plants. poppies are tough despite their delicate looking flowers.
asiatic, flanders, californian roadside and peony poppies all self seed and grow in winter to give you spring flowers for no effort.
iceland poppies are winter flowering and planted in autumn (i think?)

Morning everyone, 5:30am and i’m at work reading the forum….lol

Pepe, so all these plants can be grown from seed ? The only thing i dont like is that they die back and will leave bare patches in the garden.

We have just planted about 40 agapanthusus ( sp ) along the drive way, they should look nice when they take off.

they are wild flowers rook.
they are seasonal and look their best in spring flower. the rest of the time you have a green plant, a bare patch or a bed of small seedlings. its best to have something else growing with them off season or other plants like bulbs to flower when they don’t..
