“The Soil and Landscape Grid of Australia map products can be viewed in Google Earth by downloading this KML file 0.5Mb. “

Pretty damn impressive amound of soil data from the CSIRO using Google Earth as the presentation media.

Just download the klm file and hit run when asked what to do.
It will fire up Google Earth (if you have it on your computer) and populate the menu with a heap of selectables.

Enjoy.

(almost missed this thread) I’ve noticed some pretty impressive maps by CSIRO and available through “geoscience australia” before. Now looking at the klm in Google Earth. I don’t see a Legend anywhere, what am I looking at?

It’s colour coded, if you are looking at Soils/ Clay in the area of interest wait till it has loaded and then left click on Clay in the menu and it will pop up the colour legend.
