Has anyone here tried any of these obviously dodgy systems? the presenters, both males and females, drone on and on about how great they are, without giving any details of how they work, or a list of satisfied users, so how do the promoters get any money out of the gullible?

the most obvious ones I can think of are the property investment systems.
teach people how to identify investments, leverage debt and maximise earned value through tax loopholes…
or are we talking about the types of self improvement systems like “The Secret”

I’m not sure I understand why you find it so hard to believe; they sell a promise of a better life… be it happier, healthier or more wealthy (or usually all three)

most of these systems aren’t “scams” in the traditional sense of the word (in that people are paying money for good or services and then receiving them); they are systems, that (and here is the clincher) that if followed, will result in you getting happier, healthier or more wealthy.
If it doesn’t work, it’s not the fault of the system, it’s your fault for not following it…
I would however draw somewhat of a line under things like The Secret, where they invoke pseudo-science mumbo-jumbo as the underlying premise. These sorts of things are scams…

I’ve looked at several property type investment systems before and as far as I can see they are all about managing risk and your appetite for debt (which is something I’m not particularly keen on doing).

There are some people who want to make to money.
Look at those poor drug mules in Indonesia, all they wanted to do was to make money, that was their crime, to make money.
They put them in jail because they wanted to make money.

If you mean “earn money working on the web” systems, such as earning money by filling in questionnaires, then my daughter has. You have to do the work before you get any payment and the website almost always goes belly-up before you do enough work to get paid.
If you mean the TV advertisements about “get money quick”, nimble, cashcow, creditwash and suchlike, my inner voice screams “loan shark”.
