Just how bad is it if the CV joints only rattle on full steering lock, and only at low speed? how long can they last if you keep the throttle setting low?

Plenty of time, provided they are greased and have good boots on them.

Years ago, I bought a Honda Accord with ~280,000 km on it. It had worn, rattly CVs with torn boots. I replaced the boots, cleaned the CV joints and re-greased them. I traded it in with >420,000 km on it and the CVs were much the same.

I am liking the accord (euro) more and more. Low km and five speed can be picked up for about 15k. What’s your impression of them?

Your impression, very funny. That fellow does a good job though. And in the panel is other car sounds with the mouth enthusiasts. Who knew? Something for everyone on the inter webs.

fairly much, if the boots been fucked for while may have to clean them (joint and all) out before repacking(get dirt out)which’d be a bit of a job. Check boots for cracks too, they not always easy to see.

repacked my ute CVs last year think it was

just washed back out and under ute, put fire unit on shortly, then have look at one the universal joints on front shaft coming out of tranfer box, clunking bad toward end last year avoided using 4×4.

Mine was much older than that &1979). I bought it for $500. It was fantastic. Good ride, reasonable handling, reasonable go, reasonable economy on the highway.

That ampersand should have been a left parenthesis.

& = (
